Mt Ascutney Prevention Partnership

The Mt. Ascutney Prevention Partnership (MAPP) is a community-based public health coalition operated under the auspices of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. We work with local people and organizations dedicated to creating lasting change at the population level. As the Hospital's public-facing community health initiative, we work with multiple regional partnerships and collaborations, including these dedicated partners:

Who We Are

Meet Our Team

Melanie Sheehan (pictured right) is Chair of the Mt. Ascutney Prevention Partnership, managing Community Prevention Grant funds as the Regional Prevention Program Manager since 2010. She received her BS in Community Health from Western CT State University and went on to become a Master level Certified Health Education Specialist from the National Commission of Health Education Credentialing. Melanie began working for Mt. Ascutney Hospital in 2001 as Tobacco Cessation Program Manager, while training through the University of Massachusetts to become a Tobacco Treatment Specialist. She expanded into the role of Chronic Disease Self Management Program Coordinator before joining MAPP. In her personal life, Melanie enjoys her family, her pets, taking hikes, and being in the sun!

Alice Stewart (not pictured) focuses on project and program management, classroom and online training design and development, legal research, marketing, and community organizing. She received her BFA in Art History from the College of William and Mary and her MA in English, Concentration in Professional Writing and Editing, from George Mason University. Outside of work, Alice enjoys taking walks, solving puzzles, and talking to other people’s dogs.

Courtney Hillhouse (pictured left) engages in media outreach, community engagement, health and wellness strategies, event planning, with a focus on Adverse Childhood Experiences and Developmental Assets. She received a B.A. & M.A. Communications and Media Studies degrees from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a certificate in Conflict Management. Courtney enjoys hiking, kayaking, yoga, and running around the woods with her two young sons.
